James is a commercial lawyer with more than 15 years professional services experience.
James’ approach is to build collaborative professional relationships with likeminded advisers, regularly assisting regional and remote law firms outside Queensland’s South East corner. James has been a resident of the local area for 30 years.
James is a Chartered Tax Adviser with the Tax Institute of Australia and a Queensland Law Society Accredited Specialist in Business Law. He has presented as a speaker for both organisations as well as numerous legal education providers, national banks and community groups.
James is a director of Rivermount Education Limited and the Economics and Law Research Institute Limited. He is also the consulting General Manager of WillPoint, Australia’s leading provider of death and probate notification and will locator services.
Garry is an accountant with more than 38 years experience in Public Practice.
Initially involved with his family as General Manager in a leading Franchise Tax Preparation business of 42 offices Garry then pursued his interest in providing Taxation and Accounting services to small and medium size business.
This experience provides a solid foundation for advice to clients particularly in relation to transaction planning and execution in successfully negotiating positive outcomes for clients of the group.
Garry has a penchant for structuring family business whilst balancing, taxation, asset protection and estate planning objectives. He ensures that wherever possible clients fully understand and are engaged in the process.
A Chartered Tax Adviser for over 28 years with the Tax Institute and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Leaders and Managers since 1998 clients have found that Garry seamlessly combines his professional advice with a practical common sense approach.
Garry serves on a number of Boards including Not-for-profit organisations.
Louise is graduate of Bond University with a Bachelor’s of Laws (LLB) degree, who has volunteered extensively throughout the Gold Coast region, taking every chance to expand on the knowledge she has gained from her law degree.
Louise volunteered for Robina Community Legal Centre in the capacity of administration and research assistant for many different legal areas. They included Family Law, Wills and Succession, Employment Law as well as Civil and Criminal. She also received Law placement at the Gold Coast Community Legal Centre, which turned her attention to Domestic Violence. She was able to attend the Southport Domestic Violence Court on a regular basis throughout her placement. After her placement at the Gold Coast Community Legal Centre it made Louise aware of how strongly she was drawn to Family Law. She then took placement at Advance Family Law which ignited her passion and knowledge to strive to start her career in Private Client Work.
Louise enjoys creating fabulous food for her family and friends as she was a chef prior to her Law Degree. She also loves spending time outdoors camping, hiking and participating in all water sports. Louise is a compassionate and understanding woman, who has very strong values. She believes that she can make a difference and help people navigate their way through their Family Law issues.
Cassandra has a remarkable background in all aspects of administration, account departments and administration team management. Cassandra’s depth of experience in office management has proven to be invaluable in her role as Stokes Lawyers’ office manager.
Cassandra’s client liaison skills and calm professional persona ensures the day to day protocols and processes of a busy law firm are conducted in a smooth and productive way.

Christina is in her final semester of her Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Business degree at Griffith University and has been gaining practical experience and applying her theoretical knowledge into practice by assisting the Director’s and lawyers of the firm with daily tasks.
Christina is fluent in both English and Ukrainian which enables her to interact with clients from multicultural backgrounds at a higher level. Christina studied overseas in the UK and interned within the legal department of a global headquarter company in Hong Kong. Christina is passionate about the law and is always happy to assist. Christina is excited about her future within the legal profession.
